What is ISO 20000-1 Information Technology Service Management Systems (IT SMS) ?
ISO 20000-1 Information Technology Service Management Systems is a standard that enable IT or ICT service providers or companies to manage its IT service lifecycle more effectively, reliably and professionally.
The standard specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving a IT SMS. An IT SMS supports the management of the service lifecycle, including the planning, design, delivery, deployment, operation, maintenance, tran design change and improvement of the IT services, which meet agreed requirements and deliver value for customers, users and the organization delivering the services and other stakeholders.
The adoption of an IT SMS is a strategic decision for an organization and is influenced by the organization’s policies, objectives/ KPI, SOPs, technology, resources, the governing body, and other interested parties involved in the IT service lifecycle and the need for effective and resilient services.
